Our Underlying PhilosophyEveryone who writes does so from a certain perspective. In order for you to understand where we are coming from, you need to know something about what we believe. We are Christians -- but more than just religiously so. We believe in following Jesus Christ in our lifestyles. It is our objective to live as he did and to follow his teachings. We believe that Christ provides the solution for the problems of life and the answer for finding a close relationship with God. This relationship with God leads to a healthy heart and spirit and prepares each one of us for the spiritual beings we will become at the completion of our earthly lives. Just as Christ helped others in this walk with God, we also attempt to assist others to find their own faith, mature it into a fulfilling lifestyle, and find a close connection with their Creator. We never push information or beliefs on anyone. Instead, we simply provide the resources for growth and the encouragement to use them. However, how far an individual is willing to grow is up to them. Although we hold Christ as our standard, we like most Christian ministers, were trained in a particular religious tradition. Each of us belong to the American Restoration Movement tradition among the Churches of Christ. This tradition emphasizes the importance of the Bible as the guide to life and attempts to set up churches which are faithful to the teachings and practices of the church leaders in the Bible. While we were trained in this tradition, we hold Christ as most important, and we hope that we are closer to Christ than mere tradition could allow. |
